Jaxon Keys Winery
Jaxon Keys Estate Winery and Distillery is nestled in the rolling hills of Hopland in Northern California. Launched in 2009, Ken and Diane Wilson's passion for vineyards and sites with historical significance drew them to this site. Our Mendocino County property is an intact Spanish landgrant parcel dating back to 1858, our first Estate vineyard was planted in 1960, and we are the site of one of the oldest bonded wineries in Mendocino County with production since 1984. This history reminded Ken of his grandfathers with their passion for farming and the land and as such, he honored them both, Jack Wilson and Cecil Keys, with the Jaxon Keys Winery name.
With an ever-growing collection of award-winning wines, winemaker Antoine Favero endeavors to showcase that phenomenal wines start in the vineyards. Our site-specific clones of hillside Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Sirah and Grenache Noir gain their intensity and focus from shallower, drier, and less fertile soils-the classic red wine grape landscape. Our 50-year-old dry-farmed French Colombard vineyard, the exclusive source of our world-class Alambic brandy, and our Russian River frontage Sauvignon Blanc vineyards are situated on fertile, alluvial soils perfect for producing quality white wine grapes.
At Jaxon Keys Estate Winery, production starts with equal parts passion to produce wines that express the unique character of each vineyard, and a commitment to sustainable farming practices. Because we understand that superior fruit comes from healthy soils and balanced vines, we do the little things right, and that dedication to detail results in excellence in every glass.
